Shieltronics Strengthens Its Portfolio With Microwave Selective Shielding Technology

Shieltronics a R&D Innovation Center with its primary focus on microwave food projects is pleased to announce that it has successfully released a new generation of Shieltron Foils for selective shielding of microwaves in Food containers.

31 Jan 2013 --- “Herewith, Shieltronics has completed an important step towards realization of better food quality, taste and texture of meals when heated/cooked in a standard microwave.”

The patented Shieltron foil can be applied as an inmold label (IML), lidding seal foil or pouches and allow customized culinary packaging solutions for chilled convenience food. Many more applications are expected and in the pipeline of our partners.

Shieltronized packaging offers active microwave shielding capabilities of 5-100%. CuliDish, which consists of a modular food container system with different microwave shielding, is using shielded inmold labels and lidding foil. The advantages of CuliDish modular meal trays are the flexibility in meal composition and the savings generated as a result of filling the components at various times and production locations.
