Stejar Pilsner Now Available in PET as Well

Stejar Pilsner beer is now available on the market in a new presentation shape (2L PET packing), being the first Romanian Pilsner beer under this packaging format.

06/11/08 Stejar Pilsner beer, a brand belonging to Ursus Breweries’ portfolio, is now available on the market in a new presentation shape (2L PET packing), being the first Romanian Pilsner beer under this packaging format.

Stejar Pilsner PET is made up of high quality ingredients, Polyshield and stopper with protective special layer, all elements that help maintaining the freshness of the product. The packaging differentiates itself in the mainstream segment through the bottle’s distinct design with the oak-shaped emboss.

“Stejar Pilsner is a mainstream brand and needed a PET packaging to meet the needs of customers preferring this specific beer segment. Because clients favour the non-returnable type of packaging, it became obvious for Ursus that it had to adopt a PET as well. Moreover, in order to increase Stejar Pilsner volumes in the retail segment and to strengthen its excellent evolution in the last 5 months, the Group had to expand the existing offer with the introduction of Stejar Pilsner in PET”, said Sandina Olteanu, Stejar Pilsner’s Brand Manager.

According to company officials, only in a few months after the launch of the new Stejar Pilsner, Ursus sales’ grew 38 % against the same period of last year (April-August). Ursus Breweries, subsidiary of SABMiller plc, is one of the biggest Romanian beer producers, with a 25.4% share of the domestic market. The company has its headquarters in Bucharest and owns 4 facilities in Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Buzau and Brasov.
