“We’re branding these popular citrus varieties for easy recognition, both of our product and of the fact they are easy, fast, fun, ‘good-for-you’ snacks that also deliver an abundance of nutritional value,” Dean Troxell, director of packaging, said.
The new packaging features graphics of smiling children and fruit segments. The Sunkist Smiles are packed in a 5-pound box tray and in grab-and-go 2, 3 and 5-pound Giro bags.
The Giro bags are designed to stand on display and in home refrigerators and come with finger holes at the top for easy carrying, said Claire Smith, director of corporate communications.
“We’ve heard from retailers that the packaging has special appeal to moms and children,” Troxell said.
