Tri-Star Packaging has been awarded a major contract to supply thermoformed aPET trays to premium seafood producer Joseph Robertson, which counts Morrisons and the Co-op among its customers.
The trays, which are either black or clear in colour, will be used for a range of chilled products, including fish cakes, cod fillets and haddock pieces. In-store, the packs offer superior levels of rigidity and allow the shopper a better view of the product when browsing the pre-packed seafood fixture. The range was developed by Tri-Star in partnership with Veriplast Holland, one of Europe’s top manufacturers of plastic food packaging.
As part of the supply arrangement, Tri-Star has erected a storage unit on the site of Joseph Robertson’s production facility in Aberdeen. This will enable immediate access to the trays and help ensure stocks never run low.
Kevin Curran, managing director of Tri-Star, said: “We’re delighted to be supplying our aPET trays to Joseph Robertson, which is a company that shares our belief that high quality products and excellent service levels are more important than anything else. Our decision to invest in the storage facility in Aberdeen reflects the fact we believe this will be a long term relationship and we look forward to working with Joseph Robertson over the years to come.”
Simon Robertson, Director of Joseph Robertson, added: “Joseph Robertson is dedicated to giving its customers the highest possible standard of quality and service. We feel that our alliance with Tristar and Veriplast will help to enhance the standards we continually strive to improve upon.”
