Verallia launches digital creation tool for packaging design and digital marketing
01 Aug 2019 --- Verallia, a global manufacturer of glass containers for food and beverages, has launched the new version of its Virtual Glass packaging creation tool. The digital tool enables customers to obtain realistic, high-quality images of their packaging in quick time, optimizing time-to-market, saving on costs and facilitating collaboration on packaging designs. The renderings that can be created include up to six models, which can be used for communication purposes such as online catalogs and promotional visuals.
With this new tool, accessible only from MyVerallia – Verallia's customer portal – it only takes a few clicks to generate a realistic look and feel for a complete package, the company says. After choosing a bottle from the catalog, customers can add the content and a cap of their choice and import their labels. A visual representation of the packaging can then be viewed either in a generic or realistic scene and users can compare it with another project or an existing product.
The result of a significant R&D effort, this digital tool makes it possible to create and visualize glass packaging, including bottles and jars filled, labeled and encapsulated with “a realism never before achieved,” Marie Segondat, Communications Director for the Verallia Group tells PackagingInsights.
“Virtual Glass provides a realistic rendering of the product. You can see what the product will look like before even creating a mock-up. Customers can very easily generate an image of their product and upload it to an online store to help communicate the benefits of the product,” Segondat explains.
“Ease, speed, quality: these are the key strengths of Virtual Glass,” adds Karim Boussabah, Marketing Director of the Verallia Group. “In a few minutes, the tool allows users to test models and their packaging before showcasing them and obtain renderings as good as a high definition photo. It is a collaborative design work tool. More than a decision-making aid, it is also a marketing aid.”
Segondat notes that users can replicate pre-existing packaging through Virtual Glass as well as use the platform to design and share new packaging ideas.
Launched in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, Virtual Glass will soon be available in all countries where Verallia is present.
