Vitafoods Europe 2022: Aptar to launch “first-ever” post-consumer recycled active bottle
05 May 2022 --- Aptar CSP Technologies, part of AptarGroup, will preview its first-ever active bottle featuring post-consumer recycled (PCR) content at VitaFoods Europe (Booth J60), May 10-12 in Geneva, Switzerland. The company also plans to introduce an active bottle with higher PCR content in Q4.
The new PCR active bottles are part of Aptar CSP Technologies’ Activ-Vial solutions portfolio. As with the rest of the active packaging portfolio, the company’s proprietary 3-Phase Activ-Polymer platform technology is fully integrated into the bottle to create a microclimate to protect against moisture and other environmental conditions.
Unlike traditional packaging options, the technology co-molds highly-engineered active particles into the bottle, scavenging moisture before it reaches the contents inside.
Incorporating PCR content into its Activ-Polymer solutions is a step toward material circularity, as environmental sustainability becomes increasingly important to brand owners and their customers in the probiotic and nutraceuticals space.
The active material science solutions ensure product protection, extend shelf life and improve patient experience.
Also at the VitaFoods show, Francois Bidet, vice president of Business Development EMEA for Aptar CSP Technologies, will give a presentation on utilizing active material science technologies to solve common product probiotic protection challenges.
Titled Reimagining Probiotics Protection with Breakthrough Active Material Science Technologies, the presentation will occur on May 11 at 12 PM CEST, both live at the event and via online broadcast.
