Sealed Air has signed a sales and marketing agreement with Cubisan to optimize its packaging operations. DS Smith has launched a new feature to its AkyPak Advanced sub-brand of returnable containers. Clariant, a leader in specialty chemicals, announced that its Business Unit Functional Minerals will increase the prices of all Bentonite-based and Sorbacid product grades.

United Caps has partnered with Trio-Technik to streamline its manufacturing process at its Schwerin plant in Germany, which primarily serves the beverage market. The company has installed four trio-Technik AirMove transport systems. Trio-Technik will be demonstrating the system using caps and closures from United Caps at the 26th Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
SIG has expanded its long-term global partnership with Nestlé in another major growth market: Brazil. As a first step SIG has supplied a filling machine for 500, 750 and 1,000 ml combiblocMidi carton packs for Nestlé Brazil’s well-loved Molico and Ninho UHT milks. Already working with Nestlé around the globe, SIG’s flexible filling line is opening doors in Brazil to new beverage occasions and promoting exciting new business opportunities through product innovation and differentiation.
Sealed Air has signed a sales and marketing agreement with Cubisan to optimize its packaging operations. Sealed Air’s automated fulfillment solutions are designed to minimize shipping, materials, labor and operating costs while optimizing productivity. Sealed Air solves its customers’ most critical packaging challenges with innovative solutions that leave the world, environment, and communities better than they were found. Cubiscan provides systems and software that capture the dimension and weight data of packages to determine how much space a parcel or pallet will occupy on a truck or in a warehouse.

DS Smith has launched a new feature to its AkyPak Advanced sub-brand of returnable containers. The feature called “Advanced C” is a single flat-deck bulk container. Different from standard formats, AkyPak Advanced C flat-deck surface requires no additional layer pads in the bottom of the container to prevent residues and impurities from being collected and is easier to clean. Like other AkyPak formats, the AkyPak Advanced C High-Density Polyethylene and Polypropylene reusable containers are known for their lightweight and durability.

Clariant, a leader in specialty chemicals, announced that their Business Unit Functional Minerals will increase the prices of all Bentonite-based product grades in the EMEA region (Europe, Africa and the Middle-East) by 9 percent. It will also increase its Sorbacid product grade by 7 percent. The price increases will be effective on November 1, 2018.
ProAmpac’s novel four-sided, tetrahedron-shaped E-Z SnackPak pouch made in partnership with PepsiCo Mexico Foods for the Doritos Icognita brand has won two industry awards. The flexible E-Z SnackPak received a Gold Award from The Dow Chemical Company’s 2018 Awards for Packaging Innovation, which recognizes the packaging industry’s top achievements in innovative packaging designs, materials, technologies, and processes. E-Z SnackPak is one of eight Gold Award winners from “hundreds of solid submissions,” that were announced by Diego Donoso, business president for Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics.
British compostable catering company Vegware has announced Bristol's launch of Close the Loop; its composting collection service. This initiative will collect used Vegware takeaway packaging from Bristol businesses, for composting in under 12 weeks at Rose Hill Recycling, Gloucestershire. Responding to local demand, the Vegware Composting Collective is a new bring-back scheme for Bristol cafés, to help capture more takeaway disposables for composting.
