Codipack: Cutting downtimes with cardboard coding labels

20 Sep 2021 | Codipack

Coding and labeling specialist Codipack showcased various packaging machinery innovations at Empack this year, including laser coding, which burns traceable codes onto cardboard boxes. Joey Manders, account manager for systems at Codipack, explains how the company’s Evolabel machine responds to common runtime challenges and can provide producers with more environmentally sustainable labeling options.

This is Louis Gor Langton for Packaging Insights.

We're live at MAC.

I'm here with Joey from Cody.

Joey, what are you showing here today?

Yes, hello, I'm from Cody, and Cody, a specialist from coding and labeling solutions.

We are all happy to be back.

The exhibition and we show some different concepts and systems in the coding and labeling solutions as we stand here at the demonstration line we have a few specific coding types.

I will.

Show one item.

So you have a boxer printing on the box.

And we have 2 other types.

For the more smaller prints.

And also laser coating, when you see the laser is burning in.

So that's a few specific options from coding.

What have we got here?

Yes, as we said, it's coding and labeling.

You have specific requirements in the production.

Here you see some examples from labeling.

So to put automatically inline labels on boxes or specific other products, yeah, you have some different solutions.

So that's also the labeling.

What are the sustainability benefits of the machines in the production companies?

It's very important to have a run time.

You don't want to have downtime because of some specific machines.

So here you see some AO label applicators.

What's very important, it is easy to change some rolls, easy to change spare parts.

So that your downtime is minimized.

So that are also important things that we are working on and together with our system suppliers, we want to have a good solution for the customers.

What's special about this machine here?

As we said, each customer has a specific question about a labeling question.

So we use like standard machines, but we, we make it specific and also work with a machine builder to make a specific solution like this.

For example, I have a little box and they need a label on it, so I will introduce.

And then you have the label like this, so yeah, each customer has a specific question, and we we make the solution.

Fantastic.
