Interpack 2026: Sealpac discusses thermoformers and traysealers for cost optimization

15 May 2026 | Sealpac

Sealpac presented its full portfolio of packaging machines at Interpack 2026, including thermoformer lines and a semi-automatic traysealer. Marcel Veenstra, Marketing & Communications manager at Sealpac International, says the company’s booth this year emphasized cost efficiency and compliance with the upcoming EU Machinery Regulation.

Hi, from Interpc 2026.

I'm here with Marcel Vinstra, the marketing and communications manager at C.

Thanks so much for being with us.

Thank you.

Thank you for coming by here in the Suc booth in Interpec.

Great.

So what is presenting this year?

Here at Interpec we are presenting our full portfolio of packaging machines that we manufacture in Oldenburg.

We have thermoformer lines and we have tray seaaler lines, and also we brought our semi-automatic tray sealer.

And these are all here under our exhibition motto.

It's all about your costs.

Sounds great.

And what are some of the market trends you're supporting at the show, and how are you addressing these market and consumer trends as?

Despite being a machine manufacturer, we are also very much involved in the packaging itself, meaning the trays and the film that run on our machines.

The big trend right now is the legislation that is telling everybody to make packaging more recyclable.

The past years we already did a lot to reduce the amount of plastics, but now the plastics used has to be more recyclable, and so we have different kinds of solutions that we're showing here in our supermarkets which we also have.

How we can support our customers in addressing that legislation like the PR.

I see.

Makes sense.

And how are you differentiating yourselves from other companies we're seeing around here?

I already told you in the beginning that our exhibition motto is all about your costs.

This has to do with the fact that we manufacture our machines and design our machines with the idea of them being the lowest in costs for the rest of their lives.

So they are not cheap to buy, but over the long run they are cheap because, for example, they use minimal energy, they use minimal materials, they are always available, so there's very minimal downtime.

And by doing that we actually supply futureproof machines that also help our customers run all those new materials that they need to run.

I see, and you've already mentioned regulations, but could you dive a bit deeper into the PPWR and how are you helping brands remain compliant?

Like I said, it's all about recyclability at the moment.

To give an example, on our tray seaer line, we are running this tray.

This is a brand new tray.

It's not produced by us.

It's by a Dutch company called Bliston, Bliston Packaging, but it's a 100% mono PET.

Most of the mono e trays have some sort of a PE layer, but this is truly 100% mono PET, meaning it's 100% recyclable.

It's our job to make this run on our machines.

That's the difficult part.

But monomaterials, which are becoming more and more important because of their recyclability, is something that we also address by showing it like this as a solution for our customers.

I see and.

Would you also like to mention digitalization and automation?

How are these factors influencing your business strategy?

There's one other type of legislation coming our way, which is a machine regulation.

This tells us that we need to arrange everything around cybersecurity, safety, digital data.

Our machines are all suitable to be integrated in, for example, online software.

So our customers may have a huge factory with all different kinds of machines, including ours, and they want to read the data to make it as efficient as possible.

So that's something we can supply because all our machines are built on the same platform and they are industry 4.0 proof.

The other thing, of course, is that with this new regulation, for example, the cybersecurity means that we need to update the software on our machines.

And that is something new.

It's our responsibility as a machine manufacturer to do that.

So this is also shaping change in the industry.

Interesting.

And is there anything else that you would like to add?

No, we're just happy to be here at the Interpack showing our capabilities.

We have beautiful packs in our supermarket.

I wanted to show this one from Portugal.

This is another sustainable pack which is using cardboard, and we're just inviting everybody to come here and see what is possible.

Great, thanks so much for your time.

You're welcome.
