Amcor’s New State-of-the-Art Facility Supports Growth Strategy
Amcor Flexibles, a division of Amcor, announces the opening of a new €5-million purpose built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Sligo, Ireland.
22/09/08 The 25,000 sq ft world class manufacturing facility houses new printing, pouch making and slitting equipment in a classified cleanroom manufacturing environment on a Greenfield site. It embraces best environmental practices with solar panels, low energy lighting and rain water harvesting.
Amcor Flexibles Healthcare President Peter Brues comments: “This investment and expansion of the Sligo operation reinforces Amcor’s commitment to the medical and pharmaceutical markets and is in line with our global strategy to grow in our core market segments both locally and globally. It is anticipated that this initiative will stimulate the local economy, create further job opportunities, and importantly result in strengthening our customer relationship and market development."
Ten positions have already been created as a result of this initiative. Further planned investments will enhance the product portfolio and create an excellent platform for ongoing sustainable growth and future opportunities.
The Sligo plant is a specialist converting site which has over the past 28 years been supplying medical technology and pharmaceutical companies with products such as short run rollstock, MDM pouches and die cut lids and sheets.
