The range of these thermoformed cups is perfectly suitable for dairy and instant food products. DuoSmart® is also available in a “Light” version, containing a paper wrapper without a paper bottom base, which reduces overall package weight.

DuoSmart® is a “smart” packaging solution, combining the attractive appearance of paper cups with the functionality of polymers. The range answers the environmental concerns with no compromise on quality and safety. Compared to regular plastic packaging, the inner cup’s weight is reduced by 50%, which presents a significant plastic reduction. The recycled paper wrapper of DuoSmart® is made of renewable resources. An optional “zipper” enables consumers to separate the inner cup from the outer paper wrapper to easily dispose both materials to different waste streams.
A wide range of applications is possible thanks to different material options for the inner plastic cup: PS – polystyrene, PP – polypropylene, PET – polyethylenterephthalat, PLA – polylactic acid and PP/EVOH – polypropylene/barrier sheet. Thus, the packaging solution is highly suitable for chilled and ambient storage as well as for hot filling and microwaveable products.
For a more efficient closing, DuoSmart® is equipped with a flat sealing rim with sealable aluminium, plastics or paper-based membranes for flat lids. Dome lids are available for additional space to include extra contents like spice sachets, croutons, cereals or even cutlery.
Additional branding is possible through an augmented decorative space on both sides of the paper wrapper and at the cup bottom. The paper wrapper allows the possibility of using a high quality offset printing decoration with a matt or glossy finish.
