Dragon closures for Health & Diet’s latest GNC Brand Offering
Health & Diet Limited, the Greater Manchester based natural medicine, vitamin and herbal products supplier, has specified both standard and child resistant closures from Dragon Plastics Limited the closure manufacturer based in Pontypridd, for its new range of GNC products, which initially will be sold only through the company’s fifty retail outlets also called GNC, which is a contraction of General Nutrition Company.

The new range, which will be offered in four sizes; 120cc, 200cc, 300cc and 500cc, will consist of multivitamins, isolated vitamins and herbal products, in all a total of 200 combinations or stocking units (SKUs). The GNC retail chain, predominantly based in the Southeast of England boasts large flagship stores in Covent Garden and the new Arndale Centre in Manchester. According to General Manager Mike Rempage ‘GNC enjoys a good solid mid market clientele.’ Dragon Plastics will be supplying 38mm and 45mm standard closures in dark green to match the brand’s colour and bottles will be dark green PET. In the case of multivitamin combinations that contain iron child resistant closures will be used in compliance with the Medicines (Child Safety) Regulations 2003, and Dragon’s white 38mm will be specified. Dragon Plastics’ Sales & Marketing Director Rod Parker said ‘Health & Diet is a long time customer of Dragon and we are very pleased to be specified for an important new brand launch, I am also pleased that we can supply standard closures for products that are not injurious to children but at the same time CRC’s for products containing iron, in compliance with the new legislation.’ All closures will, to ensure an hermetic seal and tamper evidence, incorporate induction heat seal liners supplied by Selig of Knutsford, Cheshire.
