Embossing Pure for Bavaria 8.6. Red
At the market launch of their new 8.6. Red beer, the Bavaria brewery attracted attention with an unusual packaging design. Embossing pure - a new technology developed by Ball Packaging Europe - gives the can an unmistakable character. This embossing technique makes the area immediately surrounding the design detail much flatter using a specially adapted tool.
The light reflexes generated on the embossed surfaces clearly define the three-dimensional nature of the design. Ball Packaging Europe applies a transparent varnish to the can which accentuates the embossing as if it has caught the light. The important red dot to differentiate the brand "Bavaria 8.6. Red" is clearly accentuated. The 500 ml aluminium cans have been sold in France by the Dutch Bavaria brewery since May 2003. The embossing unit can handle up to 1,100 cans per minute.
