A SYSTEM for v/f/f/s operations which combines auger or volumetric product dosing in a single unit has been unveiled by US-based Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery. The company, which believes it is the only manufacturer to offer an integrated combination of servo-fillers, has blended together its Servo 3500 Digitronic Auger Filler and the CB6S Servo Volumetric Cup Filler. This is in response to the needs of food packagers searching for a method of filling multiple dry foods into one pouch from one forming tube. The result is a compact single-controlled filling system - for products such as powder mixes, nuts, chips, pasta, spices, rice and beans - that occupies a much smaller space than two separate units, each requiring separate control.
