Global Closure Systems Caps Maxwell House in China
Zeller has introduced new innovations to the Maxwell House cap to increase customer satisfaction.
28/03/08 Leading worldwide supplier of plastic and metal closing and dispensing systems Global Closure Systems (GCS), has announced that Zeller Plastik has successfully transferred its long time customer Kraft Foods to its new Shanghai facility.
In addition to the move, Zeller has introduced new innovations to the Maxwell House cap to increase customer satisfaction.
In terms of cap innovation, Zeller has evolved how customers interact with the Maxwell House product. Aaron Goh, General Manager, Zeller Plastik Shanghai, explains that a small amount of cap innovation can bring significant gains in convenience for customers: "We employed a broken thread design on the Maxwell House cap. This means that consumers turn the cap less, but get a tight and secure lock. We know that Kraft wants to maintain its market leadership and even a small innovation such as this can be the difference in a competitive market."
In line with helping Kraft maintain leadership through quality and innovation, Zeller worked with Kraft to ensure that its new Shanghai facility would meet the company’s stringent food safety standards. Relying on its experience and global reach as a GCS company, Zeller was able to bring in personnel well versed in food safety standards to meet Kraft's requirements. Zeller is already working with global food safety standards in Asia throughout its facilities including its facilities in Thailand. Using this experience, Zeller was able to create an infrastructure and operating culture in Shanghai that satisfied Kraft's needs.
"Satisfying the customer's needs both at the consumer convenience level as well as operationally is essential to forming long lasting relationships with our customers. We're very pleased that we have been able to do both for Kraft in our Shanghai facility and look forward to many more years of partnership with Kraft."
Zeller Plastik has a long relationship with Kraft's successful Maxwell House Coffee product in China. For almost ten years, Zeller produced caps for the product at its Jiangmen facility before moving to Shanghai.
