Interpack 2026 live: Greif showcases barrier technology portfolio & lifecycle data solutions
Key takeaways
- Greif showcases barrier technology at Interpack 2026, featuring solutions like IMB, EcoEx, and Plasma SiOx to address market and regulatory needs.
- Greif leverages its global footprint and local manufacturing to mitigate ongoing supply chain challenges.
- The company focuses on PPWR compliance and offers tools like the Greif Green Tool and Greif+ platform for customer convenience.

Collaboration with global customers and associations is essential for navigating today’s “complex buying and regulatory environment,” emphasizes Cheryl Caudill, the vice president of marketing and sustainability at Greif.
Packaging Insights speaks with Caudill during the ongoing Interpack 2026 trade show in Germany about the packaging solutions the company is showcasing and how they address the latest market trends, supply chain challenges, regulatory changes, and software developments.
Greif is exhibiting its barrier technology portfolio, including IMB, EcoEx, and Plasma SiOx, designed to address specific product sensitivities and give customers flexibility based on performance needs and transition timelines.
The company highlights that these are not early-stage concepts, but solutions validated at commercial scale and already supporting customers in demanding applications.
“Greif is a global leader in high-performance packaging products manufactured in 220 locations in 35 countries around the world. We service companies in markets including F&B, flavors and fragrances, and agrochemical specialty chemicals,” adds Caudill.
Logistics and legislations
Cheryl Caudill, the vice president of marketing and sustainability at Greif.Caudill tells us that the current global supply chain issues are “not going anywhere anytime soon.”
“Because of our global footprint and our local manufacturing capabilities, we’re able to mitigate that supply chain challenge and make sure that our customers always have supply ready for them.”
She says performance and reliability are key to ensuring Greif’s customers have the right solution for the product that they’re packaging.
“The regulatory landscape is probably one of the most complex environments we are in right now, especially with the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in the EU. We are hosting a forum workshop here at Interpack 2026. I’m excited about the fact that we’re going to bring together associations, as well as some of our global customers, to sit down and talk about it,” Caudill continues.
“Our products are going to be compliant with PPWR. We’re going to have the reuse, recycle, and the PCR component. That’s going to be there, that’s a non-starter, but what we are working on is finding the gaps between the regulatory intent and the operational realities of what we’re going to see.”
She says that in order to better understand these issues and propose solutions, Greif is bringing a group together “to have candid conversations” and “help customers navigate this complex regulatory environment.”
Software solutions
Caudill says keeping up to date with software developments is important for Greif, especially in the current “complex buying environment.”
“There are a lot of buyers involved in the decision-making process. We have two key products. Speaking of regulations, our Greif Green Tool is built on an ISO lifecycle assessment calculator, so it allows our customers to calculate their environmental footprint for the Griff packaging that they buy.”
“The second one is the Greif+ platform. Greif+ is a self-service portal that allows our customers to place orders. They can look up all of the documentation, from specification sheets to regulatory documents, track an order, and get packaging advice.”
She argues that the packaging world and buying decisions can be increasingly complex. “The fact that we sell a product doesn’t mean that that’s all we do. Greif goes beyond the product. We have a lot of value-added services, and we call this the Greif Advantage.”
“We help our customers navigate technical, regulatory, and performance questions.”
