KRONES, of Germany, manufacturer of bottling and packaging machine systems, and its subsidiary, Kettner, will introduce a range of new systems at Interpack 2002 in Düsseldorf from April 24-30. Designed for modularity, retrofitting, and flexible working methods, the Kettner Wrapapac case packing system (pictured) can be expanded to almost any configuration, and one machine is able to handle various types of wraparound carton/tray packs. The modular component system is easily expanded with individual components such as a film unit or shrinktunnel. Kettner's Variopac automatic tray shrink packer creates variable product-specific sales packs from containers dependent on the respective market requirements - again on one machine and with variants which can be retrofitted. Also being introduced will be the Variocart carton erector, successor to the KAF 2000 carton erector. The modular system will first be availableas the Variocart 35 with an output of 35 packs/minute, depending on folding box size and carton quality. Operating with in-line blanks magazines, the blank feed is carried out at an ergonomically designed height.
