Kuraray's EVAL™ and PLANTIC™ technologies business will be exhibiting together for the first time at the IFFA Show in Frankfurt, Germany, in May. At the show, Kuraray will highlight their technologies in fresh meat packaging, in particular, a new product in their portfolio, PLANTIC™.
“With EVAL and PLANTIC together, we are able to offer a full portfolio of barrier solutions to our customers. This exciting partnership will only make both products stronger in the competitive market,” said Tom Black, Director of Plantic Sales.
The PLANTIC™ barrier film is designed to meet the global demand for a sustainable approach to functional and performance plastics technology, based on a high content of renewable materials that reduce carbon footprint and space in landfills. PLANTIC™ is certified biobased making it suitable for food contact applications like packaged fresh meat. It has a variety of applications including barrier trays, skin packs, bone-in meat packaging and much more.
Warwick Armstrong, Director of Marketing, said of the new product, “PLANTIC is a sustainable solution for meat packers who are looking for similar properties to EVOH but want a unique, barrier solution. No other polymer company has anything like it, which excites us, as we continue to grow our business.”
The IFFA Show is the leading international trade fair for processing and packaging meat, and will bring more than 60,000 visitors to Frankfurt from May 7-12 with the show focusing on innovation, education, global outreach and networking.
