13/10/07 A new development in RPC Bebo Nederland's popular high barrier plastic fruit cups has resulted in a material reduction and lower stack for improved logistics and cost benefits.

The design of the 80mm diameter, 128ml capacity cup features eight flutes to provide stability. The stacking height has been adjusted to increase container loads. The new size has been designed partly to replace RPC Bebo Nederland's existing 140ml version, following customer demand for a smaller pack size. The difference in capacity enables fruit packers to use less syrup in their products, making a valuable cost saving per pack. Design changes have also enabled material reduction down to 1300 micron for further cost-efficiency.

The new design incorporates all of the usual benefits of the 80mm range, including high transparency to allow consumers to see product contents, a PP/EVOH/PP construction providing excellent barrier protection for long ambient shelf life, suitability for pasteurisation and sterilisation, and use of recycled material.

The cup, available to fruit packers worldwide, is already being used by several Chinese companies, including Xiamen International Trade & Industrial Co. Ltd, Zhejiang Iceman Foods, Hop Chong and Zhejiang Xinchang Best Foods.
