RF Biocidics, Inc., a leading food safety company that provides an environmentally friendly and chemical-free alternative for disinfection and disinfestation, has announced the sale of a third generation APEX system to Ready Roast Nut Company, a provider of value-added tree nuts to the dairy, snack food, bakery and confectionery industries.
Ready Roast plans to install the APEX system at the tree nut facility in Madera, California. This facility is designed with distinct raw and finished processing areas and was named “Plant of the Year” in 2013 by the DFA of California, an organization that promotes food safety and quality standards for the dried fruit and nut industries. Ready Roast is certified SQF level 3, a comprehensive certification of food safety/HACCP and Quality programs. Ready Roast prides itself in delivering and adapting to the ever changing food safety and Quality standards required by the US government and their customers.
“The RFB process was a natural fit for us,” said Thomas Finn, Managing Partner of Ready Roast. “We now have the potential to offer our customers another option for a validated, continuous process, kill step that is approved for both conventional and organic tree nuts. This technology enhances our ability to offer a wide range of roasted tree nuts.”
RF Biocidics’ next-generation food safety solutions offer a chemical-free system for eliminating pathogens, pests and fungi from food and other commodities, including spices, grains and dried fruits. Its unique disinfection and disinfestation system can be used in a broad range of applications, including food safety, agriculture, import/export compliance, and wood and wastewater treatment.
The APEX system purchased by Ready Roast boasts robust construction, state-of-the-art PLC systems and skilled high-precision fabrication and assembly. Ready Roast plans to obtain Technical Expert Review Panel (TERP) certification for its machine, which would be RF Biocidics’ first Generation 3 APEX to receive such recognition.
“The Ready Roast sale represents an important partnership and a real milestone for RFB,” said RF Biocidics Chief Executive Officer Craig Powell. “We look forward to an ongoing relationship with Ready Roast that will allow us to continue to find new ways to expand the use of our products.”
