Sealed Air has released its I Pack Dual, an automated void reduction system designed to use less packaging material, facilitate warehouse efficiency, and optimize transportation.
“The new I Pack Dual demonstrates how Sealed Air continues to lead the automated right-sizing market,” says Byron Racki, global protective president at Sealed Air.
“The system’s ability to manage two box footprints on a single platform delivers unmatched flexibility and productivity, while reducing packaging complexity and freeing up critical warehouse space.”
The packaging company describes I Pack Dual as engineered to process two fixed corrugated box footprints on a single machine to deliver improved efficiency and flexibility in high-volume fulfilment environments.
Right-sizing and durability
I Pack Dual offers a measuring and creasing module that automatically detects product dimensions, and then creases and folds each box to the desired height. This process can reduce excess void fill and help lower dimensional weight charges.
The system accommodates a range of box sizes from 180 × 140 × 50 mm up to 630 × 450 × 400 mm. It is said to maintain an efficient throughput of 10–12 boxes per minute, depending on the size.
I Pack Dual applies a durable, automated glue-sealed lid closure to ensure secure, consistent packaging by eliminating manual steps.
The machine can integrate into fulfilment environments and is fully compatible with Sealed Air’s AutoPrint system, which prints full‑color graphics, text, and barcodes directly onto boxes after they are packed and right‑sized.
When used jointly, the two systems can improve efficiency and enhance the brand experience by reducing overpackaging and enabling personalized on-pack printing.
“Packaging performance has a direct impact on fulfilment efficiency and total cost. Our innovations are built to simplify operations, reduce waste, and improve protection — helping our customers operate more effectively and deliver better outcomes for shoppers,” Racki adds.
