Sealed Air Provides Cryovac Trays and Pads Made from Annually Renewable Resources
The NatureTRAY package can now come pre-padded with the Cryovac NaturePAD absorbent.
23/01/08 Sealed Air Corp. announces the addition of a processor-ready version of its Cryovac NatureTRAY package along with a new Cryovac NaturePAD absorbent. Both products are created with PLA (polylactic acid) polymers and support Sealed Air’s ongoing commitment to sustainable packaging alternatives.
Made entirely from plants, the NatureTRAY package can handle the robust demands of automated in-plant packaging. The sustainable tray can be used for case ready packaging of poultry, beef, pork and fish.
The NatureTRAY package can now come pre-padded with the Cryovac NaturePAD absorbent. While maintaining seal integrity and its ability to absorb, the NaturePAD is a hybrid absorbent with a biodegradable top layer, renewable pulp fluff core and non-woven bottom layer made of polypropylene and PLA polymers.
The NaturePAD absorbent is available in three absorbencies – 40 grams, 75 grams and 150 grams. The processor version of the NatureTRAY package is currently available in one standard size and color, an all natural un-pigmented white tray with a #3 footprint. The company plans to expand to other popular sizes in coming months.
