Image credit: Siegwerk.The global provider of printing inks and coatings for packaging applications and labels has launched the heat-sealing lacquers (HSL) portfolio within its Cirkit coatings brand.
“Cirkit Novaseal is a key milestone in strengthening our coatings offering for sustainable packaging,” says Gilles Le Moigne, head of Circular Economy Coatings at Siegwerk. “By unifying our heat sealing expertise under one strong product brand, we make it easier for customers to navigate performance requirements while aligning with circular economy goals.”
Siegwerk says Cirkit Novaseal brings together its circular economy strategy and heat sealing expertise, integrating the know-how and technologies gained through its acquisition of Allinova.
Sealing performance
Cirkit Novaseal’s HSLs are designed to facilitate consistent sealing, hot-tack performance, and bond strength across packaging applications.
The portfolio includes multiple product characteristics and performance profiles, such as solutions for gravure and flexographic printing and different sealing temperature requirements.
The product range also includes variants with low seal initiation temperatures for efficient processing, hot tack performance for high-speed packaging lines, and high bond strength at low coating weights to support converting processes.
Siegwerk’s structured portfolio approach aims to help converters select the right lacquer based on application method, performance needs, and end-use requirements.
Last year, Siegwerk launched a recyclable pouch for dry foods alongside Borouge and TPN.
The company recently acquired Hi-Tech Inks to expand in India’s flexible packaging market.
