Südpack Medica has introduced MedHub, a service for consumers to order high-quality, pre-made medical pouches in standard sizes and defined batch quantities.
Südpack’s current pouch offerings, available through MedHub, feature three-side seal pouches made from film and Tyvek. According to the company, they are sterilizable, puncture-resistant, and highly resistant to moisture.
Moreover, the range boasts “excellent” barrier properties for protection and allows fast opening.
“The pre-made pouches can be used at various stages of the pharmaceutical value chain. For example, to package products such as stoppers, filters, or connectors,” says Südpack.
“They are also frequently used as simple transfer packaging for items such as glass vials, ampoules, or syringes, which are essential for administering liquid parenterals like infusions and must remain completely sterile prior to filling.”
For heavier medical products, Südpack offers three-side seal pouches made of polyamide and PE, available in various sizes. These pouches provide a microbial barrier and are also suitable for gamma sterilization.
Convenient packaging options
All pouches are manufactured in ISO-certified cleanrooms and comply with healthcare industry standards. Moreover, Südpack assures that the pouches are permanently in stock and can be ordered at any time.
Orders through MedHub, the new service, can be made by phone, email, or online. Südpack explains that MedHub is ideal for medical facilities and suppliers that need standard pouches quickly and that require an ongoing supply of standard products.
Last August, Südpack presented its range of flexible packaging solutions for food products at PackExpo 2025. It debuted its CarbonLite range, a line of recyclable monomaterials that can be used for packaging concepts such as PE flowpacks for cheese or garlic baguettes, PP doypacks for snacks, PP or PE block-bottom pouches for coffee, and PP spouted pouches for fruit purées.
Südpack also presented the CarbonLite range at FachPack 2025 in October. Packaging Insights spoke with Holger Hoss, head of strategic product management, about how the solutions help reduce emissions while maintaining product protection.
