The German company said the T850, which will be launched later this year at Interpack, is an upgraded version of a previously establish T800 system and is the highest capacity automatic inline traysealer in its current portfolio.
The main advantage of the machine is increased throughput capacity of between 80-100 packs a minute thanks to its capability to process two lines simultaneously, Valeska Haux, company vice president for corporate marketing said.
Comparing the new system’s throughput to the T800 in absolute figures was “quite difficult as this always depends on the products to be packaged”, she added but that the twin line model was “equipped with the same innovative machine technology and pioneering hygiene design.”
Flexible
The high-level packing capacity of the system means it is likely to be often employed in complete and fully automated production lines of large industrial scale packers. It is also flexible with regards the type of products and formats it can process, said Multivac.
“We are able to provide individual tooling according to the specific requirements of our customers - such as tray formats”, said Haux. “In addition, the machine can be adapted to the products to be packaged. An example of this is foods containing fluids like ready meals.”
Its main areas of application in the food sector are meat, sausage and convenience products. The system is further suitable for the packing of seafood, fish and cheese, as well as fruit and vegetables or salad products.
The T850 has also been designed to minimise both use of energy and packaging materials thanks to the incorporation of “innovative driving units”, said the marketing vice president.
Multivac said it will present the new system as part of an integrated packaging line when it showcases the T850 at Interpack, in Dusseldorf, Germany in May 2011.
