Xaar has named Colordyne Technologies as the official North American distributor for the Xaar Versatex Printbar, expanding access to digital embellishment and specialty print capability for label, packaging, and converting applications.
Under the agreement, Colordyne will provide Versatex sales, service, and support across the region. The printbar expands Colordyne’s retrofit portfolio, helping converters looking to introduce digital capability to existing analog presses, finishing lines, and converting equipment.
Taylor Buckthorpe, director of Sales and Marketing at Colordyne, says: “Colordyne has spent more than a decade helping converters and brands integrate inkjet technology into real production environments.”
“The Versatex Printbar is a strong addition to our portfolio because it aligns directly with our retrofit-first approach. It gives customers a practical way to add digital embellishment, high-build effects, and variable print capability to equipment they already own, while creating new value in labels, packaging, and specialty applications.”
Expanding digital embellishment
Developed for turnkey inline integration, the Versatex Printbar offers converters a flexible path to integrate premium digital effects and functional print capability without replacing existing production assets. The solution is available in varnish, white, and variable data black options.
Chris Coyne, global business development manager at Xaar, says: “Colordyne brings deep knowledge of inkjet integration, application development, and converter support.”
“Together, we can help customers unlock new creative, commercial, and operational opportunities with digital embellishment and printbar technology, while making it easier for North American converters to adopt digital capability within their existing operations.”
Colordyne will showcase the Xaar Versatex Printbar at Labels & OUter Packaging Embellishment (LOUPE) 2026 (September 15–17) in Chicago, US.
Moreover, Colordyne is set to develop sales, service, demonstration, and sampling capabilities for the Versatex Printbar at its Brookfield facility in the US. The two companies aim to support market awareness through demonstrations, customer engagement, open house events, and industry exhibitions.
Last year, Xaar launched the Ultra High Viscosity Technology for corrugated packaging printing, offering reduced cost per print and digital customization.
Recently, the company spoke to Packaging Insights about how printing technologies can support accessible packaging, which has become an “essential part of the brand experience.”
