The Fresh-Lock® Soft-Seal™ zipper material from Presto Products (Appleton, WI) requires less energy to crush than traditional zipper materials, and therefore requires less time, temperature, or pressure to seal, company says. The easy-to-crush material is also said to help reduce packaging film distortion and minimize leak rates. The Soft-Seal material is available as an option on several Fresh-Lock zipper styles, and additional styles will be made available on a case-by-case basis. Fresh-Lock zippers made with the Soft-Seal material can be applied to premade bags or in-line on f/f/s equipment.
