Metsä Board has launched MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go, a folding boxboard developed for demanding food and pharmaceutical packaging, together with a fast and predictable custom-cut sheet delivery solution for the European market.
MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go combines a multipurpose folding boxboard with dependable sheet availability, assisting customers in responding quickly and keeping inventories lean.
Maarten Florizoone, vice president for Sales Europe at Metsä Board, says: “Our customers operate in environments where demand can shift quickly. With MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go and our new service concept, we are making production smoother, planning more predictably, and supply chains more resilient, creating a real competitive advantage for our customers in Europe.”
Fast-moving brand packaging
MetsäBoard Pro FBB Go is said to provide “consistent quality and reliable performance,” while supporting compliance needs in the regulated food and pharmaceutical segments.
The solution can also reduce the packaging carbon footprint via lightweighting and provides a high share of fossil-free energy to its Husum mill production in Sweden.
The grade does not contain optical brightening agents and features hard sizing, enabling dependable performance in frozen applications. It is sheeted at Metsä Board’s Sheeting & Distribution Hub in the Netherlands. This allows custom-cut sheet formats with short and predictable lead times for customers.
Metsä Board’s FastTrack Service is said to provide folding boxboard sheets in less than three weeks in Europe. The ExpressTrack Service is capable of delivery in less than ten days, supporting converters and brand owners to maintain supply chain agility and reduce the need for excess inventory.
Last month, Metsä Board announced its plan to open a Packaging Design Studio in Milan, Italy, in mid-2026. The studio will be equipped with tools and AI support technology to aid workshops and co-creation in projects.
