Mondi is highlighting its semi-chemical fluting portfolio, developed to improve packaging performance across long journeys and fluctuating climate conditions, where material choice is critical for products to arrive intact.
The portfolio includes ProVantage Powerflute, a containerboard created fully from fiber and engineered for applications requiring “maximum strength and resistance to variable climates.”
ProVantage Frescoflute is also part of the portfolio. The solution is said to deliver dimensional stability and compression strength during processing and storage.
Finally, Mondi’s portfolio includes the ProVantage Aquaflute, said to be designed for environments where short-term moisture and water resistance are essential.

Improved creep performance
The containerboard grades can be used in different industries, including fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and deep-frozen products, meat, poultry and seafood, as well as industrial, chemical, and automotive applications.
Improving paper choice and grade combinations across all layers of corrugated packaging could result in “right-weighted solutions” that balance material efficiency with protection in converting, packing, and distribution.
Fresh fiber-based semi-chemical fluting offers lower creep parameters compared to waste-based alternatives, according to Mondi. This is key for corrugated boxes in maintaining stacking strength over time under different humidity and load conditions.
Mondi offers advanced creep testing for customers, which simulates real-life transport conditions, reducing the risk of performance failure and product damage.
Last month, Mondi released a white paper highlighting how fit-for-purpose packaging can support food producers and retailers, protect product quality, and cut waste across supply chains.
