Plus Pack Adds New Sizes To Tamper-Evident Range
The SquarePac containers are made from APET and are designed to be placed directly on the dinner table rather than transferring the contents to a serving bowl.
21/09/07 Leading European packaging manufacturer Plus Pack has introduced new sizes to SquarePac, its range of ready-to-serve plastic packaging with unique tamper-evident closures.
Designed primarily for fresh salads and fruit, SquarePac is a new range of plastic packaging aimed at the growing UK convenience market.
The range is now available in seven sizes of container, from 150 ml to 1000 ml, all in a stylish, innovative and square design available in clear or an elegant black/clear version. The new 500 ml tray has been designed for a fork to be inserted into the lid cavity.
The thermoformed plastic containers all have a closely-fitting lid, which can only be removed once the tamper-evident seal has been broken, a feature increasingly demanded by the major multiples.
This provides consumers with reassurance that the contents are untouched when they are handed the product or when selecting an item from a refrigerated display cabinet.
The packaging is stackable, making it easier to arrange and present the products on the shelf or in the refrigerated display cabinet.
The SquarePac containers are made from APET and are designed to be placed directly on the dinner table rather than transferring the contents to a serving bowl. The packaging has been devised so that the food is ready to serve once the seal is broken and the lid has been removed.
Shawn Roberts, UK Sales Manager for Plus Pack, said: "Sales of convenience products to busy consumers continue to grow as people want to spend less time shopping, cooking and presenting meals. At the same time, however, consumers are placing ever greater demands on the quality and safety of food, as well as on the packaging, which should ideally be attractive enough to place directly on the dinner table.
"Plus Pack is one of the few plastic manufacturers to have mastered the "tamper-evident" technology within thermoforming, and we expect the market for this type of safety packaging to grow considerably as interest continues to increase in the coming years."
