Key takeaways
- Sidel will showcase smart, user-focused technologies at Interpack 2026, highlighting solutions designed to improve productivity and flexibility.
- Key innovations include the Cermex RoboSelex robotic collating system and the RoboAccess_Pal S compact palletizing unit.
- The company has recently launched the Packaging Optimisation Tool to help producers reduce PET costs and carbon footprint.

Sidel will present its smart, user-focused technologies to enhance productivity and flexibility at Interpack 2026 (May 7–13) in Düsseldorf, Germany.
It is also set to present its complete line of capabilities alongside technologies, such as Cermex RoboSelex and RoboAccess_Pal S. The solutions aim to demonstrate how the company supports customers in achieving stable product flow, smooth changeovers, and long-term production agility.
Davide Sighinolfi, vice president for Food, Home and Personal Care at Sidel, says: “Our complete line expertise is a key driver in helping customers across market categories such as edible oil, sauces and dressings, and home care.”
“Our experience in managing bottles of any material, shape, or resistance enables us to deliver the performance, reliability, and flexibility brand owners expect.”
“In addition to our overall PET expertise and ‘conversion to PET support’, Sidel continues to be a trusted partner across an extensive variety of categories. Whether cartons, tubes, or flexible pouches, we enable packaging complexity through a top-class equipment portfolio enhanced by advanced smart technologies and user-focused, safe automation, ensuring consistent value and operational excellence for our customers.”
Next-generation solutions
Cermex RoboSelex is a robotic collating system developed for case packers, providing flexibility and accumulation-free operation.
The Cermex RoboSelex is said to be able to support “seamless handling of lightweight bottles in unlimited shapes and batch configurations.” The solution aims to create an ultra-smooth, continuous product flow without compromising high-speed performance (up to 320 products per minute).
“The RoboSelex builds on the strengths of the ProSelex solution by ensuring that containers are handled with complete integrity while also delivering the agility today’s Food, Home, and Personal Care lines require,” says the company.
“Its changeover process has been engineered for repeatability and speed, typically taking from as little as one minute for collation changes to two minutes for a different bottle format, so that operators can move between batches with minimal disruption.”
The system’s streamlined mechanical design is created to reduce the number of parts involved, simplifying ingoing operation while cutting costs and shortening time-to-market when introducing new formats.
RoboAccess_Pal S is a compact, agile palletizing unit from Sidel. The cell can operate at speeds of up to 11 cycles per minute, while handling a payload capacity of up to 25 kg.
With the Packaging Optimisation Tool, users can assess potential production changes and view estimated annual savings.According to the company, the solution remains compact, with a footprint developed to fit into production spaces of less than 12 square meters for two stations and eight square meters for single pallet stations. This layout is said to support quick installation and contribute to the system’s short payback time.
Interactive experience
To assist producers in saving on PET costs and lowering their carbon footprint, Sidel has recently unveiled an interactive tool that calculates the potential savings possible for primary packaging, according to customizable use cases.
The Packaging Optimisation Tool is said to offer a comprehensive range of levers, such as bottle neck, body, and base changes, on top of the adoption of partial labels or the integration of recycled PET.
Vincent Le Guen, vice president for Packaging, Moulds and Line Solutions at Sidel, says: “Rising and dynamic costs of PET are a significant challenge for customers, and every opportunity to optimize the package weight helps, both for their bottom line, and their sustainability goals.”
Jerome Neveu, product manager for Packaging and Moulds at Sidel, adds: “This new online calculator is flexible, interactive, easy to use, and freely available, helping create awareness of what is possible for cost savings and advancing sustainable packaging.”
