Xylophane at Interpack 2014
Xylophane will be exhibiting at stand G03 in Hall 9 at Interpack in Düsseldorf 8-14 May 2014, presenting their renewable barrier for food packaging. In addition there will be a presentation at “Bioplastics in Packaging” on May 9th at 11:50 and on May 13th at 11:30 in Hall 9 (Stand F05).

The material Skalax is a renewable barrier against oxygen, grease and aroma. It is also a barrier against many harmful substances occurring in cardboard based on recycled fibres thus preventing mineral oils from migrating into the packaged food. It is based on xylan, which is derived from agricultural by-products and can prolong the shelf life of food in a sustainable way. Skalax applied on paper or board is a suitable barrier in the packaging of articles like oxygen-sensitive crisps, greasy pet food and aromatic products such as spices.
