15/01/06 - Sleever International, the leading provider of sleeving solutions globally, has won the material category of the French Packaging Award for its innovative new TPE-G (thermoplastic elastomer) film.
The jury particularly commended the environmental qualities of the film which helps maximise the recyclability of PET bottles on which it is used.
"This prize is a welcome recognition for our world beating technology," says Eric Fresnel, Sleever International’s Managing Director. "Consumers and regulators are insisting that we make packaging as recyclable as possible. TPE-G helps us do that. It has already been approved by numerous recycling organisations around Europe and is being used by Coca-Cola for its Aquarius sports drink."
TPE-G Films achieve the same level of clarity as PET film. It can be shrunk by more than 75% enabling it to fit complicated shapes. It produces excellent results with both steam, infra-red, and hot air shrinking systems.
"TPE-G also has excellent properties as a barrier to things like oxygen and UV," says Eric Fresnel. "It also conforms to all regulations on packaging."
Sleever International has developed a range of inks designed specifically for use with TPE-G film. "Our expertise in the design and use of inks, combined with the versatility of TPE-G, makes the new film an ideal choice for beverage manufacturers who want to achieve a striking effect while giving their product the best environmental credentials," says Eric Fresnel.
