Canpack has partnered with Canovation to support the next stage of its CanReseal resealable aluminum can technology toward commercial readiness and pilot-scale deployment.
With the partnership, the companies combine the proprietary resealable can-end system by Canovation, a US-based packaging technology company, with Canpack’s manufacturing knowledge and global industry reach. They are aiming for technical and manufacturing alignment for future pilot-scale production and market introduction.
“We are excited to formalize our relationship with Canpack as we move into the final stages of commercial readiness and validation,” says Jeff Grajewski, chief operating officer at Canovation.
“This collaboration allows us to align closely with a global manufacturing leader as we prepare for pilot production and commercialization.”

Fabio Hees, group commercial officer at Canpack, adds: “This relationship reflects our continued commitment to advancing innovative and sustainable packaging technologies. We look forward to working with Canovation to prepare CanReseal for commercialization.”
Canovation says it will continue to be supported by its long-standing development partner, Stolle Machinery Company, a producer of can-making equipment and tooling solutions.
Stolle will provide engineering, tooling, and manufacturing equipment support as CanReseal advances toward implementation on existing can-making infrastructure.
Resealable can for refill
The CanReseal aluminum can end system enables resealability, and according to Canpack, leverages scale, efficiency, and established can manufacturing and filling infrastructure.
The companies say that the can is designed to enhance consumer convenience and support circularity, building on aluminum’s inherent recyclability and value retention. This way, the solution can offer an alternative to single-use plastic packaging without disrupting traditional industry processes.
Last year, Canpack provided cans with tattoo art designs to Royal Swinkels.
Sonoco highlighted its already commercialized resealable can technology at Interpack 2026.
