Sabert Corporation Europe has launched an updated paper cutlery range, with end-of-life certificates for recyclability and TÜV OK Compost Home. The solutions are said to facilitate improved durability and grip.
“We’re proud to introduce the latest evolution of our paper cutlery range,” says Kévin Fidalgo, Product and Innovations manager at Sabert.
“Customers are no longer willing to compromise between sustainability goals and product performance. This latest development delivers a stronger, smoother, and more comfortable eating experience, helping operators meet evolving customer expectations.”
The products’ sizes and shapes have been updated to improve handling, ergonomics, neck performance, and tines, according to the food packaging company. It adds that the range is suitable for demanding food types.

Fidalgo continues: “With this latest innovation, we’re delivering a paper cutlery solution that combines strength, comfort, and functionality. The result is a product that feels better in the hand, performs more reliably during use, and responds to the growing demand for high-quality fiber-based alternatives.”
Efficient material use
According to Sabert, the new generation range is manufactured through a process enhanced for more efficient use of materials.
Isabelle Ernotte, Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety manager at Sabert, comments: “Continuous improvement is an important part of our product development approach.”
“We’ve further optimized our manufacturing process, and a proportion of production waste is reintroduced into the pulping process at our manufacturing site. This supports efficient use of materials while maintaining the high-quality standards our customers expect.”
Earlier, Saber introduced PulpUltra, its range of fiber-based and PFAS-free foodservice packaging, across Europe.
Last year, Sabert formally completed the acquisition of Colpac to expand its fiber-based packaging capabilities. At Packaging Innovations 2026 in the UK, Andrew Grimbaldeston, European commercial director at the company, highlighted the benefits of merging Sabert and Colpac and their joint offerings.
The shift away from single-use plastic solutions for the foodservice sector is becoming increasingly visible, with packaging providers like Eco-Products launching redesigned paper hot cups, recycled aluminum cold cups, and expanded reusable Veda products, and Huhtamaki supplying Hesburger with new fiber lids for hot beverage cups.
Governments around the world, including in Ghana and Kyrgyzstan, are also taking action against the use of single-use plastic foodservice packaging.
